Did you know that most people seek professional counseling only after they feel all other avenues of support have failed them? If you are reading this, you are probably so afraid, sad, upset, angry and/or worried that you are not sure what to do next.
You are also very brave.
Because admitting that you need help, even to yourself, takes courage.
Because seeking assistance from someone you don't know requires strength, especially when the people around you are telling you "you'll get over it" or "you'll be okay."
Because raising your hand and saying "I want things to be different," and then taking the steps necessary to make that happen, is not for the faint of heart.
In spite of how progressive our society’s thinking has become, the term "therapy" still evokes a stigma of being crazy, a fear of being analyzed, or a feeling that you are something outside the range of “normal”.
You are NOT crazy.
You're struggling with a stressful event, a troubled relationship, or an ongoing feeling of seemingly inexplicable depression or anxiety. Maybe even all of the above.
You ARE normal.
Whatever is going on is overwhelming, hurting or scaring you. You may feel misunderstood and unable to get any long-term relief.
You are NOT alone.
I look forward to hearing from you.
